About Us

Located in the historic Bennett Building at the corner of Main and Race in downtown Urbana, Bohemia is a unique boutique that features an eclectic blend of vintage home furnishings and décor, new women’s apparel, gift items, newly added baby essentials and so much more. We showcase the work of over 20 local artists, featuring handmade jewelry and fine art.

Bohemia Home offers beautiful home furnishing and accessories in an array of styles. Owner Milea Hayes travels to markets all over the Midwest to find pieces for Bohemia Home. Grab a fresh cup of coffee and a treat, and stroll the store, which features tables, dining room sets, chandeliers, shelving, upholstered accent chairs. The works of many local artists are also featured in the showroom—accentuate your living space with paintings, coasters, or candles. Our inventory rotates constantly, so stop in frequently to see what’s new!

Discover the charming world of Bohemia Baby, where we unveil an adorable collection of unique baby apparel! Cozy blankets, snug socks, delightful rompers, soft robes, cuddly stuffed animals, and playful accessories await to wrap your little one in comfort and style. Our Story

Milea Hayes opened Bohemia in 2013 from her passion for all-things vintage, clothing, and art. Adding clothing and art to the mix of vintage items made the perfect combo for a unique boutique. Since then, Milea has curated a shop that has become a landmark in downtown Urbana, Illinois.

In 2019, she decided it was time to expand, and increase the focus on Bohemia Home. She knocked a door into the wall and renovated the south end of the building. The beautiful windows provide perfect lighting for the “Little Plant Shoppe.” In addition to highlighting home goods, the expanded space is frequently used for events to promote local artists, and downtown events.

Bohemia has hosted pop-up events, trunk shows, open houses, holiday and birthday events, and book and poetry readings. There are pops of color and interesting merchandise in every direction of Bohemia. Said one delighted customer, “You know it’s a good shop when you keep searching because you don’t want to miss anything!”

Amazing items! I absolutely loved the unique items and the many choices of items this store has to offer. The customer service was great everyone was friendly and inviting. They have a small area for customers to have a little snack and something to drink. I thought this was such a great idea. The store is organized, clean and easy to shop. I wanted to buy almost everything! If you are looking for a unique gift or just wanting something for yourself you have to stop in and take a look around. The location of the store is convenient and has a lot of other shops to shop in the same area. I will definitely go back to this store.
